ChiralTek ChiralCECD-3 columns are a novel type of 3-Chloro-4-methyl-phenylcarbamate cellulose-appended beta-cyclodextrin-bonded silica particles-packed chiral columns. The ChiralCECD-3 particles were prepared through a specially-designed procedure by bonding 3-chloro-4-methyl-phenylcarbamate cellulose-appended beta-cyclodextrin onto surface of high-quality porous silica (3µm or 2µm) gel particles. The ChiralCECD-3 column contains a unique complex chiral selector with two recognition moieties: 3-chloro-4-methyl-phenylcarbamate cellulose and cyclodextrin. Due to the cooperative functioning of the cellulose and cyclodextrin, the ChiralCECD columns can provide different and generally better chiral separation abilities for a wider range of chiral compounds. Since the complex selectors were chemically-bonded in the ChiralCECD columns, both standard and non-standard mobile phases (e.g., chloroform and dichloromethane etc.) can be used to achieve optimized separation in both traditional HPLC and modern UPLC.
